Meg Ferrel Scores 1st Goal of Soccer Season

Grace Family,

Despite the loss, our Lady Golden Eagle Soccer Team played a great game last night against Concord Christian. Meg Ferrel scored the first goal of our Lady Golden Eagle’s Soccer season on a free kick. Meg is a junior and has been playing HS soccer since she was in the 8th grade.  She plays on the back line as a defender. She kicked it high and to the middle of the goal and it caught the inside of the goal post and dropped in.  We weren’t quite sure if the goal would count for us or not, but the referee blew his whistle and said, “Ladies, we have a goal.”  This was Meg’s first HS soccer goal! In turn, this gave our ladies the adrenaline rush that they needed to finish the game with high intensity and competitiveness.

Although the outcome was not quite what we wanted, our ladies showed resilience and perseverance that confidently secured our belief that this will undoubtedly be, a tremendous season! Given the circumstances that have been thrown at us — and not being able to do much scrimmaging or practicing the way we want to, we played a great game. Please come out and support us at our next game on Tuesday, August 25th at Sequatchie County High School @ 5:30 PM. Go Lady Golden Eagles!
